How to Export Your Canva Design for Printing

If you created your artwork in Canva, use this guide before uploading it to BIG Print Studio.

1. Set the document to the correct size

Create the Canva design using the same finished size or the same proportions as the product you are ordering. For example, a 110 × 30 cm banner should use a wide 11:3 proportion, not a standard A4 page.

2. Keep important content away from edges

Keep names, logos, phone numbers and other important information comfortably inside the edge of the design. For products that are trimmed, a safe area helps prevent important content being too close to the cut line.

3. Use good-quality logos and photographs

Upload the best original files you have. Vector logos or high-resolution originals give the cleanest result. Avoid screenshots of logos or images copied from social media where possible.

4. Export from Canva

Open your finished design in Canva.
Select Share, then Download.
For most print-ready artwork choose PDF Print.
If Canva offers crop marks and bleed, only enable them when the product or artwork specification requires them.
Download the file and upload that PDF to BIG Print Studio.

PDF Print vs PNG/JPG

PDF Print is preferred for most Canva artwork because it normally preserves text, shapes and layout more reliably. PNG can be useful for artwork requiring transparency. JPG is acceptable for photographic artwork when saved at high quality.

Before uploading

Open the downloaded file and check every page.
Zoom in and make sure text and logos still look sharp.
Check names, dates, phone numbers, addresses and prices.
Check the orientation matches the product ordered.
Make sure no unwanted white border has appeared.

Large banners

If Canva will not allow the exact large finished dimensions, create the artwork at a smaller size using the exact same proportions. For example, a 110 × 30 cm banner can be designed at 55 × 15 cm because both use the same proportions.
